ISU

Founded in 1987, International Space University (ISU) is dedicated to educating the leaders of the next generation of space exploration. More than 2700 graduate students from 100 countries have come to the main campus in Strasbourg, France, to study space science, space engineering, systems engineering, and space policy and society. In 2009, NASA Ames Research Center hosted the summer session of ISU – the first time ISU has been held at a NASA Center. More than 130 students from around the world participated in the 9-week summer session, which featured mentorships by NASA's scientists, engineers, and researchers, as well as partners from leading universities and Silicon Valley industries.

Singularity University

Singularity University starts with the idea that we are in a period of extremely rapid technological progress. By bringing together the most visionary thinkers from around the world, Singularity University aims to introduce graduate students and professionals to groundbreaking work done across a range of topics that include molecular genetics, nanotechnology, bioinformatics, ecological studies, law, and entrepreneurship. Now in its first year, Singularity University attracted 45 students to its campus at NASA Ames Research Center, where they spent a 9-week-long summer session exploring how advanced technology can solve such human challenges as poverty, hunger, and climate change.
